offering: Miles Miller. ~24 years old. Formerly a happy Indiana-bred farm boy with prodigious aim turned Vietnam-enlisted Marine. Currently an anxious, mostly-functional heroin addict and unaddressed-PTSD-haver, as well as the sole employee at a formerly-prestigious motor lodge that occasionally has him film guests for, presumably, blackmail. He's pretty torn up about it! He's from Bad Times at the El Royale, 2018 mystery/thriller film about a bunch of shady people running into each other at said hotel. It's pretty good!!

seeking: Casting a wide net here:

— canon stuff. standard interactions in the hotel (it's been both incredibly esteemed and incredibly shady and therefore open to normal stays, political dealings, crime, etc), divergence (I won't pretend I'm above wanting a fix-it, my boy got a raw deal, but I'd also just love exploring different variations on the events of the film -- what might have changed with an additional character present, some new set of convoluted agendas, so on), or post-film (handwaved survival on his part, and what the fuck that would possibly look like for him!!!!)
— sci-fi / supernatural aus. The hotel as the site of some weird fucky experiments to justify things like a time loop, superpower stuff, mind control, so on. Miles as a ghost (in either building-haunting or free-roaming hitchhiiker flavor), Miles as your local exhausted spooky-estate groundskeeper or footman, Miles who didn't go to war but was bit by a werewolf and has been grappling with that, etc. There's a thread here about voyeurism and secret-keeping that could skew a little lovecrafty or otherwise demonic if I kept tugging at it. Also the hotel as some kind of Twilight Zone-esque liminal space outside time / purgatory would be sick as hell.
— crime / intrigue / action type shit. This is kind of broad because I don't know exactly how to articulate it, but like....Coen brothers stuff. A good crime caper. People accidentally endng up in way over their heads with some kind of criminal body or conspiracy.
— As dynamics go I mostly just want to throw everything at the wall and see what sticks. Mentors, fellow vets, coworkers, higher-ups that browbeat him, old friends and acquaintances he ghosted after the war, people he feels very conflicted about spying on, people that demand more honesty than he may necessarily be prepared to offer, people that do NOT relate to his distress at having killed people, basically anything. I don't expect to ever get canonmates, and I'm very down with cross-everything.
— Basically anything that best facilitates contact. Hotel setting, au him into your canon, fake jamjar, isekai him, I do not care, I'm game to see how he'd handle it.

preferences/notes: PSLs would obviously be great, but especially given I'm in the voicetesting stage I'm more than happy just tooling around on memes! I'm EST and probably a middling-pace tagger, I aim to ideally hit everything at least once a day as inspo/time permits + am open always to backtagging. Happy to match prose vs brackets, default to present tense but if that's a dealbreaker I'm fine matching past as well. As shipping goes I'm leaning m/f with him, and default to ftb should that arise. He's too new for me to confidently ascribe a type but I generally love a slow burn, love strangers bonding through navigating insane shit (external or internal), love people who process shit in opposing ways.
