offering: My original character who goes by Tox or Sebastian depending on canonpoint & context.

Basic info (many TWs involved, see his opt-out):
- Born into a fucked-up cult, was genetically engineered and augmented to be a supersoldier
- Cult is literally underground, they consider surface folk their enemies, but Seb fell in love with a surface girl in his career doing espionage on the surface
- For this crime, he was blinded by the cult's leader
- Now must escape the cult, adjust to being blind, find himself somewhere in the mess of propaganda the cult instilled in him

Personality: calculated and distrustful on the surface, and has a tendency for violence due to his upbringing, but underneath he's a soft guy who just wants a simple life, love, and comfort.

seeking: He's bi, so any ship will do. I've also had some really incredible platonic CR with him. I have a doc of cult lore if that is your thing and you want to AU your character into the cult, or isekai them. Or he can easily be plunked into another world and will definitely need help finding his way. I'm very open to ideas. Generally enjoy playing him post-blinded either healing (if you have a healer character, an easy hook), escaping the cult, adjusting to disabled life, etc.

Hello, this big Deaf guy here [slaps his back like the roof of a car] comes from an original canon where he's a member-citizen of Techstake, which is basically a transhumanist commune of occasionally unethical scientists experimenting with the far reaches of human cybernetic augmentation. Disability accommodation is a big part of the work they do, including giving one blind volunteer basically Data-vision™ rather than restoring her normal human vision. (Child experimentation is also a part of his canon, not that anyone except The Most Unethical of the researchers knows that yet.) Dev is also an ex-soldier (if not a genetically altered supersoldier), sometimes has trouble controlling his temper, and underneath is a total softy who just wants someone to love him with the same fervor he loves other people.

If you're interested in playing together, it would be super easy to integrate your cult into The World After setting, since there are already groups of people living outside of the main World Government. The world is 600-ish years past a superflu apocalypse where 99% of humans died, so there is lots of space to hide a community in and recoverable tech for a hidden community to have been developing independent of the World Government's stuff.

In addition to Devero here, I can also offer you Dr. Natily Armaceau, the best cybersurgeon of her generation, and the augmented twins Lirikani and Kubukani, who have been given the dubious superpower of textelepathy during their time at Techstake, as well as a handful of other characters who don't have their own journals, lol.

(You might want to check out Devero's TWs at the end of his permissions, he specifically has some significant abuse in his backstory.)

Ooooh yes, similar type of guy from a similar setting! Seb's cult is also transhumanist, literally called the Ascendants, as they aspire to ascend beyond mortality/humanity (for lack of better term. they're not human but are a similar race) through magic, genetic engineering, and augmentation. It sounds like his cult is a bit more evil than Devero's commune, in that child soldiers, child abuse, and child experimentation are the norm. But of course, it's a cult, so I could definitely see it on the fringes of your world. I have a whole lore document for it which I'm happy to share, but that's the TL;DR!

I'm certainly okay with themes of abuse, as Seb has a ton of that in his backstory as well. His dad sucks, his superiors think public humiliation/starvation/isolation are acceptable punishments for minor misdeeds, and he also has sexual trauma from his time in "The Factory" which is where they breed soldiers (who are underage- if that is an issue I can try to avoid/be vague about it). I can occasionally get triggered by VERY graphic descriptions of child abuse or like, playing it out interpersonally, but so long as I have a heads up/some ooc communication around it, I'm fine.

Devero looks so sweet and I would LOVE to play with him. I think these two could be really interesting together as they have such similar baggage. And ofc I would be down for the other characters to be brought in as part of the setting/as the plot demands and whatnot! As for characters attached to Seb, he has a daughter named Eve who he is semi-estranged from but loves SO MUCH IT MAKES HIM INSANE, Juno the surface girl he'd fallen for, and his father (mad scientist to the extreme).

I can't imagine any active child abuse stuff would come up right away, so hopefully if it does we'll have been chatting about it beforehand and will both be ready to handle it. The underage abuse isn't an issue for me as a backstory thing but I wouldn't want to play it out or read graphic descriptions of it either, so that we can definitely avoid.
